hard-driveLosing all your important data from your computer can be your worst nightmare! That is why it is always smart to keep hard-copied back ups of all the important stuffs in your computer. Now, when worse comes to worst and your hard drive goes dead on you and you do not have any backups whatsoever, there isn’t really much you can do, but replace your hard drive and go on with your half-life, right? Wrong. There are certain ways that you can do to recover all your data.

When a hard drive crashes, it is possible that it’s only the logic board that got fried. Therefore replacing your drive’s main board with an exact match will definitely fix it. All you need to do to recover your data is to buy the same type of drive, make sure the part number on both drives matches to ensure compatibility, and use the new harddrive’s logic board to replace the defective part on your old drive. It is a completely logical thing to do when your softwares are more important than your hardware. If you feel that it is too complicated to do, check out this tutorial on how to recover your data on a dead hard drive. Disclaimer: Keep your fingers crossed this is not a guaranteed solution.

It is also possible that the actual disk on your harddrive has too many bad sectors on it, causing it to crash. When this happens, solution for your problem can be done using third party softwares. If your computer is not booting up you can remove your harddrive and make it a slave drive on another computer. Then use the data recover software called GetDataback and use it to recover your data. The software will try to fix and reconstruct logical data and hopefully recover your data. Raw data can also be extracted, meaning it will recover everything from your drives including corrupted files.
