Installing your HP printer or Scanner to your new Windwos 7 OS.
Cause:
Like everybody else, we are still new to the new Microsoft OS and navigating through the new system may be confusing. Also there are still no full feature software available for Windows 7 for HP products. But technically, I would probably recommend installing a windows vista 64bit full feature software and driver as it may work. (If you have tried it, pelase let us knwo if it was successful or not).
Solution:
As of date, only the basic driver will work on windows 7. Or at least it is the only way that will ensure your HP device to be isntalled on Windows 7. TO install the basic driver al you need to do is insert the USB cable and go to Start > Devices and Printers > (your printer/scanner) and click on troubleshoot. The Troubleshoot window should then appear. Follow through the steps and locate the driver locally or through the Internet.
This July 2009, Hewlett-Packard will be releasing a new product line, which is the new Photosmart C4700 series. Included with this series is the new version 13 of thier software. And, it supports windows 7! To install the full feature software you need to install first the basic driver of your product and after that, download and install the Version 13 of the HP full feature software. Thanks for this. I have an HP color printer that I was thinking about installing on my new computer just the other day. This might prove to be quite helpful
