Sometimes Hp installation get stuck at 96%, at this point installation is configuring your product. When this happens first thing you need to check is your Digital Imaging Monitor. To do this, just go to your task manager by pressing (Ctrl-Alt-Del) – Processes Tab, and locate the process hpqtra08.exe and end/stop that process. After ending the DIM, restart it by double clicking on the file located at
C:Program FilesHPDigital ImagingBinhpqtra08.exe
If the installation does not continue, wait for the fatal error message to appear then go to your task manager by pressing (Ctrl-Alt-Del) – Processes Tab, and locate the process hpzrcv01.exe and end/stop that process. By doing this you are able to print, however scanning from your solution center may have some problems. You can still scan though using your Operating sytem’s built-in scanner application:
- If you are using windows Xp, press on START button (on the lower left portion of your screen) all programs – Accessories – Scanners and Camera Wizard. And follow the wizard’s instructions to scan your document.
- If you are using Windows Vista, Follow these steps by Microsoft to scan using the windows photo gallery.
Update: June 16, 2009:
After ending the process hpzrcv01.exe, and if you are still able to scan after that, then I believe that your Hp all-in-one’s basic driver is already installaed in your computer however the Full feature software is partially installed. To complete the installation, I highly recommend you to install the latest stable Version 12 of HP software.
