Anyone experiencing issues with the HP AP5000's rear facing customer display? I am able to test the device using the HP provided opos drivers - ONCE. Then as I open the POS application (Retail Pro 8.6) I get an error that says I can't claim or open the port on which the VFD display is used. (Com1/Com2 both tested) If I run the opos test again - it also fails with the same message. It appears as though the com port remains open or held by the opos test application.

I have to clear the com port by uninstalling it in windows and re-installing it, in order to release the com port.

I have tried a plethora of known opos drivers - but they appear to have an emulation or language character issue. The test says its a Noritake brand device.

I have tested this with Microsoft RMS 2.0 and the VFD display works fine. this could be due to the fact that Microsoft RMS comes with it's own opos Line Display drivers. **Perhaps the opos driver that HP uses is limited to some extent.
