Cant change Internet Explorer’s homepage? No matter how hard you try, it seems impossible to change you Internet Exporer’s homepage?
To resolve this problem, we must dig deep into your system’s registry. There may be two possible causes of this issue, and I am going to show you how to fix each one of them.
If you have just installed or upgraded/downgraded to explorer7 your homepage will be set to “http://runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspx?” and it will ask you to complete something first before you can change any settings of your Internet explorer. It will keep nagging you until you do so. The problem is there’s no way of completing it, making you unable to change your homepage.
To resolve this issue just go to your registry and EDIT or ADD the following keys:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
“RunOnceComplete”=dword:00000001
“RunOnceHasShown”=dword:00000001
It is also possible that the registry key for your homepage is damaged or missing, just edit or add the following keys.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
“Start Page”=”http://about:blank”
