Issue:
You are not able to rename folders in vista. There is also an error message that say, “The file or folder does not exist.”
This is a bug that may apply to the following operating systems:
- Windows Vista Business
- Windows Vista Enterprise
- Windows Vista Home Basic
- Windows Vista Home Premium
- Windows Vista Ultimate
- Windows Vista Business 64-bit Edition
- Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit Edition
- Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit Edition
- Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition
- Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
Solution and Fix:
To fix this problem, download and install this registry fix.

It’s better if you explain what is there in the registry file that your script is trying to modify.
Many people who don’t have much of an idea about computers will blindly double click your script and may crash their computer if you have some malicious scripts.
Also, always include a warning as “For safety purpose please backup the current registry key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FolderDescriptions branch.”
Cheers!!
